All rise for the Far Out Family and their Declaration of Independence. Where do I even start with this one with out getting long winded. Pure art. It’s almost genre bending. One thing I really dig about the piece in general is it’s musicality. It’s rare that you have to rappers this lyrically capable that don’t decide to completely verbally destroy every track but instead decide to make dope music.
Glenn Saddler & Bias the Black really deliver something special that sounds nothing like anything one the scene. Love the Alkebulan feature it slides in perfectly without disrupting the chemistry.
The album has a nice rise to it as well. Starting of much much chill and rising into a really eruption which bring me to my other point in how the album artwork really does look like the album sounds. Also having the Little Miss Sunshine, Amestad, & Metal Gear Solid dialogue as the intro, interlude, & outro are just awesome.
It really has an NERD quality if I could make the comparison. One thing that it shows is adept diversity. Once your about 6 track into the 10 track project you really have no idea what the next song is going to sound like. As soon as you peg them for alternative artist it revert back to almost trap rap which then makes another jump into rock when you could have sworn three songs ago you may have been listening to a pop album. And it all flows smoothly.
Nice work guys. S/O to the whole Far Out Family
SideNote: Be on the look out for their Pinckney project which will be released soon which features the recently released BUZZCUT.
