Bias the Black – SHAWN MICHAELS feat. Alkebulan & TheCoolisMac

This right here is some of the smoothest. Bias the Black gives us another super chill one of of the soon to come BLACKjujuu. This time with Alkebulan on the verse and TheCoolisMac on the Ad-Libs.

Okay so everybody on the scene knows that for a while now TheCoolisMac has had some of the coolest (no pun intended) ad-libs in the city. Really though you can’t not giggle a little every time you hear him in the background of something.

Hearing this what we know is BLACKjujuu is going to be something real chill. This right here is ride music.

Can’t wait for that BLACKjujuu

Alkebulan – Assassin

Alkebulan tells us the story of lady assassin that seems to jump from her being a heart breaker to an actual killer depending on which lyrics you pay attention to. Starts of extremely chill and gradually becomes more aggressive as the chorus progresses. Really dope stuff from the Black Clan front man. @Alkbln

J.I.D x 6LACK – “W4R” Ft. OG Maco & Alkebulan

And here we have the second release from J.I.D and 6LACK’s upcoming International Sad Boyz project and it’s just what you thought it was. Heat. With the accompaniment of OG Maco and Alkebulan (which is what I assume is the reason for the stylish 4 in W4R is for) it makes this a 4 man assault over the Deko production. They all kill it in there own way which is really impressive to see how the production sent them all in different directions. Usually when you get this many artist on one track you get a bit of some overlapping flows and styles but not here. As I’ve stated before I can’t wait to hear the rest of this project should be a really smooth listen. @SlickSixJID / @6LACK / @OGMaco / @Alkbln

Alkebulan – Public Enemy

We got three hands on deck (Sonny Digital, Curtis Williams, & Reckless Dex) for the production of this very timely piece of work here. Alkebulan ,as the young panther he is, gives us aggression but honestly holds back to state things a little more matter-of-factly as he says lines like “911 is a joke”. The track has also garnered the attention of actual Public Enemy member Chuck D which is just awesome. I really do love seeing artist in the scene live up the image they portray. Really good work. @Alkbln

Alexis Glenn – Irrational Illustrations At Heart

Two months late but you know we like to sit on things here at raW before we speak on them sometimes. Especially something as smooth as this. Newcomer (or at least new to me) Alexis Glenn gives us Irrational Illustrations At Heart. I had heard here before but only as a featured artist never her own stuff. I always wondered what something from her would sound like. Not sure where to begin with this one so I’m just jumping in. I feel like she has one of the most unique voices in this scene right now. The only other artist I can think of with a voice as unique would be Amadi Jae. Side Note: With that being said I’m not really sure if they are apart of the same “scene” Alexis Glenn falls a little more into the category of the few soul sirens that surround themselves with Atlanta’s hip hop scene (think Marian Mereba) where as Amadi Jae is nestled deeply within Atlanta’s Neo Soul counterparts. Back to what I was saying. This shit is smooth and passionate. Definitely baby making music. The way the use to do. Even on a smooth track with the things she can do with her unique voice she can almost make it aggressive which is probably my favorite thing about the project. Even when she preforms (or at least the few times I have seen it) she hit this little gyration that makes you just feel it. It’s old school in a way. I would love to hear a live instrument behind her. And for her to indulge more. Sometimes when artist do it’s to much do I could listen to her repeat the ending of As It Is for an hour. Lol. Dope stuff and shout out to Alkebulan who who seems to have produced most of the project. (And possibly engineered knowing his talents when it comes to controlling the boards for much of Two 9’s work.) Nice one guys. And can we get some visuals! @Lexin8or
