OG Maco – BREATHE EP

The every socially conscious OG Maco gives us less yelling and more message this time around while staying entertaining. I could see something like this coming out from Maco in these ever trying times. This EP was quick and right on time. Much appreciated. @OGMaco

NicX – The Sun (ft. 6LACK)

Really nice combination. Spaztastic NicX along with the cool calm collected 6LACK. Wonder if we’ll be getting a new project from either of these guys anytime soon. Dope stuff guys. @NicxNation / @6LACK

Money Makin Nique’ x Johnny Cinco – The Extra EP (+ Run It Up Video)

Money Makin Nique’ & Johnny Cinco bring us The Extra EP. Super Cool and the kind of collaboration that seems really natural. Like these two guys may have already been really cool. (The dance Nique’ Does in the video makes me want to see it live so I can join in!) I feel like the styles compliment each other with out feeling so far apart that they shouldn’t be together. They naturally speak on similar subject matter while Johnny somewhat mumbles his way through lines Nique’ speaks extremely direct. Dope stuff. @mOneyMakinNique / 1JohnnyCinco

Father – Spoil You Rotten

Father continues to give it to us with Spoil You Rotten. What I like about the track is he actually takes one of his flows that I really enjoyed from another track and kind of expounded upon it. Maybe he got some complements or realized people where quoting a certain line more often than others. Maybe he just does what feels right. Regardless dope stuff. Shout out to his whole Awful family. @father

DylanTran – Warning Shots ft. Wara from the NBHD

Producer DylanTran releases production with vocals by Wara. Really feel like this was a great blend. I wouldn’t mind hearing a small EP collaboration from these two. It really does seem like a lost cut from KIDNAPPED. Really dope stuff. Gotta check out more of DylanTran’s work. @dylantran / @warafromthenbhd

sosaytheWOLVES: OG Maco x Key! FallOut (the rundown)

On the OG Maco x Key! situation. If you’ve been paying attention to their relationship then this comes as no surprise and more like something that was slowly coming to a head. key-og-maco-grungecake-thumbnail From the beginning of the push of Give Em Hell there seemed to be tension. We definitely saw Key! as the front runner where as Maco, at least at first, seemed to be the one benefiting the most from the collaboration. One could argue that this is still the case. Throughout the scene it seemed as though Key! felt that way as well and was a little less than shy about letting it be known. A little jab here and there until he eventually stated outright that he and Maco were not, never have been, and never would be friends and that this was just a business decision in which he felt he was basically getting the short end of the stick (ie. I benefit him far more than he benefits me type of attitude.) Key!’s sentiment seemed to come as a surprise to Maco who up until that point seemed to believe them to be friends with people around them claiming that there was no reason to think other wise. Even during an interview with Complex Magazine Key! states that he actually has no reason to dislike Maco. He just doesn’t. He even goes on to state that Maco at one point makes the attempt to find out what he may have done to rub him the wrong way in which Key! just replies “You know, it’s just like if we work at McDonald’s and I don’t like my co-worker.” The whole situation seemed strange. Like why would someone create a smash hit with you and right before the hit goes supernova jump ship. It almost seems crazy like some sort of career suicide but alas Key! proceeds to find his own level of fame with the title track from the very same project! I guess the mumbles became to loud for Maco because he decides to take it from being a suedo beef to full blow rap diss on the Key! attacking track “Fat Fuck”. I’m not sure what set him off but he follows it up with a full blown twitter rant that seems to last about half a day with him having to deal with the fall out which included everything from people expressing his same sentiment to the many fans of Key! coming to his defense. What could have made him finally snap I don’t know but I will end my little run down by saying this. I kind of feel like it should end here. I know people from both camps and we know everyone is down to get crazy so lets just leave it at that. We know you guys are both real and will take it to the streets and none of that is needed because at the end of the day there really is no beef. Sometimes people just don’t mesh well together and that’s cool. We’ll end this on a positive not with the OGG come-up documentary that they recently released. Get to know the guys. #sosaytheWOLVES

Plewto Smith – Fantasy

Plewto Smith finally gives us a visual from his project Spiffy released early this year for the audio Fantasy. Most people know him for being the most dancingest turn up guy in the club around the scene but the boy actually makes music. Good music. Raps and Sings. Slick visually and somewhat timely I feel like. Not sure if that was on purpose or not but definitely dope. Direct cut one shot. Cool stuff. Can’t wait for the next project. @PlewtoSmith

Key! – Vancouver Freestyle

I’m just saying Key! freestyled a real whole song and thats all I’m saying. I mean that was way legit. I’m turnt right now! I really want to know what it’s like to be in the studio when he does this. I mean, what is the engineer thinking. Probably something like “did he really just do that.” Dope stuff as always. @FATMANKEY

Lucid FC – Fall/Winter 2014

The guys over at Lucid went a little punk with the slightly DIY look for this years Fall/Winter collection. They’ve left us and headed for NY but the boys are still all over every noteworthy site as to be expected. My next question is when’s the price going up? With this kind of pub the Twins are going to be able to charge whatever they want in a second. Really dope stuff guys can’t wait to see it on the street. @LucidFC

Wara From the NBHD – Slangin

Basically a back to back drop from Wara with Slangin. following close behind RAW which seems to take place in the same world. Wara definitely stated at one point that the story was not over. I wonder how many more videos we are going to get out of the KIDNAPPED project. Maybe he’ll even give us a conclusion to Piano Lesson’s story. SideNote: Not mad a all the shameless promotion either. lol. Get your Playin’ Four Keeps apparel today! @warafromthenbhd

Wara from the NBHD – RAW ft. Grande Marshall

So what we have here it seems like is a two part video from Wara with Raw coming first and Slangin to be released at a later date. One thing I really commend about the visual is how it follows the story of KIDNAPPED with Wara actually taking on the roll of his created character Piano Lessons (or at least that’s how I interpreted it.) I also wonder how crazy the Slangin video is going to be. They have really been tooting the horn about it so we should be in for something really dope. Can’t wait. With this new verified account I think Wara is definitely poised to blow next. @warafromthenbhd / @GrandeMarshall
