Key! – Hang Wit Us feat. Retro Jace

Damn this is hard! Just as someone said in the comment section this basically sounds like Shake ‘Em Off part 2 with it’s vibe but I also thought the idea to do the whole thing with distorted vocals was kind of cool. After having all this Key! material dropping I wonder what is happening. Is he gearing up for a solo Key! effort soon? Someone in the know hit us up and let us know something. @FATMANKEY / @retroJACE

KEY! + Chris Fresh: EightHundredandEightKeys

Key just continues to prove that he can churn out catchy hits on command and this project is no different. I mean seriously Key! is proving to have the magic touch. If you want to be on then you need a Key! collab. I will say that this project, as short as it is, is bottom heavy. The most memorable tracks come near the back end. KNOW U, PERFECT, and PARTY are jus awesome while the first two kind of just sound a bit more aggressive and while they are dope tracks with great lines the are a little less memorable. The stand out track on this is obviously PERFECT. Basically it sound like Key! just being Key! and not giving a eff what the track is going to sound like which of course ends up making the track sound awesome. As one of my correspondents stated it almost sounded like he was just going to use some stuff as place holders and freestyled somethings with the intention to go back later and just didn’t. We are glad he didn’t because this is going near the top of the Key! catalog. S/O to all of OPB @FATMANKEY

Key! & ManManSavage – Trap Money

Key! & ManManSavage bring out the Lucid twins for this Father Are The Curse visual for Trap Money. Really the twins give the video the little umph! it needs to bring it from being somewhat regular to art. Very cool juxtaposition. I really dig the ManMan x Key! collabs. You really do get a chance to see how chill Key! is in comparison to ManMan’s Savage and I can really dig that dynamic. @FATMANKEY / @ManManSavage100

Father – Look At Wrist feat. iLoveMakonnen & Key!

I have never heard of Father before this so I must say that Key! brought me here but Oh My Guh! this track goes so hard! And I’m still new to iLoveMakonnen but he really went in on this one. This is the epitome of chill. This is also one of those times where I really feel like the mainstream needs to start to recognize that Rap is a multi genre art form now. I mean really. Artist such as Key! & iLoveMakonnen really are kind of sitting in a genre of their own but if they were to be nomitated for a Grammy they would bunch them in with every other rapper. Just saying. Really dope stuff. Definitely a new fan. @FatherAintShit / @iLoveMakonnen / @FATMANKEY

Key! – Paper feat. Curtis Williams + Chip

Long awaited & probably something people thought they would never see again! Key! & Curtis Williams together on record again. Right or wrong everyone had their thoughts on why Key! (1/2 Founder of Two9) would leave the rising collective that he had such powerful part in the creation of’s success just before it seemed as thought they were about to blow. Regardless we have new music! Chip along for the ride as well and this sounds like the original reason everybody was down to rep the gang. @FATHMANKEY / @ThatBoyCurtis

Key! – Geeking feat. iLoveMakonnen

Oh My God how did this song slip under our radar? Well it matters not now because it’s probably my new favorite song. It’s basically pure Key! with production by Dexter but also an iLoveMakonnen feature which is an artist whose name I have seen pop up lately but never actually took the time to give a listen to. That’ll definitely change now. I really dig his flow which reminded me of Slick Rick or Digital Underground. (I actually tried to look him up to see what he looked like but could only find pictures of what seemed to be a decapitated manikin head.) Again we must have been sleeping because this one flew right by us. @FATMANKEY / @iLoveMakonnen

Key! x OG Maco – Give Them Hell

I had too much fun with this one! Really crazy project from two great guys. Key! most of you have heard of of course but OG Maco is a fairly new break out this summer even though he has been part of the scene for quite some time. As stated by one fan on twitter “this shit make you want to punch somebody!” and that it does. It’s still what you know and love from Key! and OG Maco brings that same feel of a “street” guy who listens to more than just “street” music. U Guessed It had me dying! It’s an extremely aggressive audio cut that simply hilarious in it’s straight forwardness with who I assume to Maco yelling “You Guessed It!” at the top of his lounges in the angriest way possible. Now if this doesn’t make you laugh out loud AND want to punch someone then we can’t be friends. @FATMANKEY / @OGxMACO

Key! – Prophets with Profit

So I’ve played this about 10 times already so that probably comes up how I feel about this. WE GOT NEW KEY! Always down for new Key! Dope NoahxZark and Man Man Savage Cameos. Does this mean we are gearing up for another Key! release? I’m never really sure. Sometimes Key! speaks as if he’s sitting on hours worth of material and is ready to release it at any moment and sometimes he seems like he is never going to release music again. Here’s to hoping it is the former and not the later. @FATMANKEY

Key! – .45 (Dir. TerminallyMill)

Quick visual for one of my favorite tracks off of Key!’s FATHERS ARE THE CURSE project. “Friends killing friends boy I know the devil is a liar.” – Key! @FATMANKEY / @TerminallyMill

FatKidsBrotha – Last Two Orgy ft. Key! Snubnose Frankenstein & Curtis Williams (Two-9)

FatKidsBrotha seems to be gearing up to give us that Eastside Paradise 2 and they are off to an amazing start with the Two-9 posse cut Last Two Orgy. Everybody comes with the expected dopeness you get when you combine the Two-9 forces but a real stand out verse comes from the producer of the track Snubnose Frankenstein. We’ve stated before that the young producer may be a double threat and this may be an early sign of that. The video is some pure Atlanta scenery shot by one of our favorite, and definitely most featured, directors Artemus Jenkins who does exactly what the song asks and uses smooth transitions to compliment Snub’s smooth transitions…smooth transitions. SideNote: You can’t help but to notice the lack of Two-9 founder Key! in the visuals which makes my mind wonder if the tracks name has a more somber meaning. Maybe this being the last time that we will hear a group Two-9 cut with the inclusion of Key!… I just made myself sad. @FAT_KIDS_BROTHA (@jesusmunchies & @DavEOFKB) / @FATMANKEY / @snubdogg / @ThatBoyCurtis / @two9 / @ArtemusJenkins

Key! – Fathers Are The Curse

avatars-000045355385-dug75e-t500x500 Long awaited. We are finally getting the follow up to the highly praised Mothers Are To Blame and it comes equipped with all the Key! components he is well known and loved for. See what I mean by that is that there are things that let you know this is Key! audio you are listening to (many of these thing highly imitated in the scene right now.) The slurred verses / Repeating himself in stylized ways. Even on a team of many men per song it’s easy to tell when Key!’s verse starts. Production is on point but you already knew that. Key! definitely has an ear for what sound works for him and I like the way the sounds of the many producers of the project mesh to give the audio it’s complete sound. Another thing I dig about the project are the collaborations. They seem quick almost. Even when a feature appears it still feels like a Key! track. I always feels like they’re just there to aid Key! and not to take over the audio which is how it should be. Of course there is the whole “Two9 or Not?” controversy surrounding the release but we’ll save that for another time. As for know let’s just enjoy the project that I have been anticipating more than any other Atlanta release in recent history. And S/O to Kei (Kei like Key) for keeping us posted through out the project release. @FATMANKEY
