Rome Fortune – Damn Good, Damn Different (prod. Dun Deal)

Damn. Do to Rome’s usual chill temperament when it comes to delivery you sometimes forget what he is capable of. So word is this track was suppose to be on his up coming project Drives, Thighs, & Lies produced in it’s entirety by Dun Deal but this particular instrumentation wound up on Kevin Gates recently leaked album so they they decided to go ahead and spring a leak of their own. Well if this is what Rome does to Dun Deal production then this is going directly into the most anticipated folder. S/O to Cowboy Pimpin’ @romefortune / @IAmDunDeal

Bias the Black – as the game gently weeps (lbb004)

Bias the Black continues to rerelease older material through his (littleblackbirds) project. If you have ever been to a LRDRVN show then you know this one. Crowd favorite definitely. The live version has evolved over time but this one still holds up just do to shear lyrical acrobatics and the killer Beatles sample. Dopeness from the Far Out Family / Raven Corps allegiance. Can’t wait to hear what this BLACKhudii is going to sound like. @BiastheBlack

Wara from the NBHD – SQUEAL (Visual)

If you missed it HERE is what we had to about the Audio! We got SQUEAL visuals here from Wara from the NBHD’s Kidnapped shot by Wes Sherwin. (responsible for Wara’s 98′ Rocafella) These visuals are dope but what may be even more so. This tweet from Wara. raW x Wara SQUEEL Cryptic Right? Can’t wait to see what this means! Someone get me a P4K Hoodie! LOL! @warafromthenhd / @WesSherwinMedia

Wara From the NBHD – Squeal (Peel Off)

I think the primary thing that needs to be stated on the entry is PRODUCED BY MOTHER EFFING WARA FROM THE NBHD! Really though people this beat is truly heavy. Is that live guitar I’m hearing? I know he has been putting in a lot of work lately when it comes to his production as can be seen if you have followed his journey on things such as social networks and what not. I got to witness him at SXSW recently on the Baller’s Eve stage. His performance style is a very chill one. Has a really laid back delivery as you can tell but it got some what aggressive during one song I was not familiar with but am very interested in hearing recorded. Nice work guys S/O to the whole P4K Family @warafromthenbhd

Curtis Williams – Saturday Night

Artemus Jenkins killed this video. I mean straight murdered it! That GTA wardrobe scene… damn… If your an Atlanta native there were a couple of things you would have caught. The BONFIREATL location and Far Out Family’s Bias the Black performing to name a few. Throw in a dialogue scene and wrap it all in a nice bow of an Alkebulan chorus. Dope stuff guys and of course another S/O to Mr. Jenkins for giving us another dope visual. @ThatBoyCurtis / @Two9

Retro Su$hi – “Zonin” feat. Rome Fortune

The first time I watched this video I’m not sure if the info was up or I just over looked it but I completely missed the fact that it has a Rome Fortune feature. Brings me back to a little LOLO (a project done by Ceej & Rome a while back, look it up!) Of recent memory this is the most different of all Two9 material I have heard. I really dig it. Shows great reach and a diverse musical palette but what I want to know is if this makes it into Two9’s rambunctious live sets. If you haven’t attended a Two9 live show your missing out. They are a lot of fun. The thing is is that I’m not sure if I have ever seen any member of Two9 on stage without the whole ensemble. This song doesn’t seem to be one to be performed with the gang on stage. I would love to see how it would be incorporated. Got my eye on you guys. @RetroSushi / @Two9CEEJ / @RetroJace / @Two9

Far Out Family – Declaration of Independence

All rise for the Far Out Family and their Declaration of Independence. Where do I even start with this one with out getting long winded. Pure art. It’s almost genre bending. One thing I really dig about the piece in general is it’s musicality. It’s rare that you have to rappers this lyrically capable that don’t decide to completely verbally destroy every track but instead decide to make dope music. Glenn Saddler & Bias the Black really deliver something special that sounds nothing like anything one the scene. Love the Alkebulan feature it slides in perfectly without disrupting the chemistry. The album has a nice rise to it as well. Starting of much much chill and rising into a really eruption which bring me to my other point in how the album artwork really does look like the album sounds. Also having the Little Miss Sunshine, Amestad, & Metal Gear Solid dialogue as the intro, interlude, & outro are just awesome. It really has an NERD quality if I could make the comparison. One thing that it shows is adept diversity. Once your about 6 track into the 10 track project you really have no idea what the next song is going to sound like. As soon as you peg them for alternative artist it revert back to almost trap rap which then makes another jump into rock when you could have sworn three songs ago you may have been listening to a pop album. And it all flows smoothly. Nice work guys. S/O to the whole Far Out Family SideNote: Be on the look out for their Pinckney project which will be released soon which features the recently released BUZZCUT. @FarOutFamily / @glennsaddler / @BiastheBlack / @_TheLiving_ / @EuweiSTNMTN

Rome Fortune – Beautiful Pimp 2

Rome is back! Controversial cover and all. Okay one thing I love about this is all the production is handled by one producer CitoOnTheBeat. I just like the idea of two people molding a project together and not producers just sending over beats. As you would expect Rome is a producers dream. He does exactly what is needed to be impressive while at the same time not outshining the production. You equally enjoy both. Another thing I would like to point out is how Rome’s music even in a single song seem to fit multiple purposes. Tracks seem to fit your mood. A track that seems happy on the first listen can seem melancholy on the second or one that seems like a downer quickly becomes an upper if heard in a room full of people. Another stand out thing is the no features thing. I always point out when speaking on Rome that although an Atlanta native he seems to always be out of state which would lead me to believe that this project may have been recorded in either New York or LA. I wonder if his on the move lifestyle had anything to do with the decision or was it purely artistic. Basically the way I feel is that either way I enjoyed the decision. Rome’s voice along with the beat is so melodic at times that I almost feel as though a feature would kick you out of the dream (Inception reference) so to speak. Thumbs up all around from us on this one. S/O to Rome and his whole Cowboy Pimpin’ family @romefortune

FatKidsBrotha – Discreet (Dir. Gunner Stahl)

Quick dope visual FatKidsBrotha’s Discreet off of the recently released Eastside Paradise 2. The DOMHELLAKID$ portion in the middle was hilarious “I had to get a ride from my baby momma… naw not that one… naw not that one.” priceless. S/O Two9 @FAT_KIDS_BROTHA

Spillage Village – Bears Like This

tumblr_n0kxheVGk31qi49mwo1_1280Words from the Spillage Village. This project gets right to it which I though would be a must for the six track project until about halfway in. Contrary to it’s track count it actually seems quite full for this audio which clocks in at a little over 30 min. I believe one reason for this is the cast. Spillage Village consists of EARTHGANG, J.I.D., JordxnBryant, and Hollywood JB. We are quite familiar with the first two but not so much with the later but we did assume (and with good reason) that if they were anything like these guys they would be anything but boring. We we’re very pleasantly surprised that they could hold there own with their lyrically nimble counter parts and with the added backing from miss Marian Mereba & Shelanese (Who I assumed was a hostess) the whole tape seemed full and bare at any moment. Smooth and fun are the words I use to describe this one. Even with many of the serious and introspective tones some of the music may take you always end up finding your self giggling at a witty line or character driven inflection. Go ahead and put this one in the rotation. Bears like this and so do wolves! And we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for JordxnBryant & Hollywood JB from now on. @EarthGang / @SlickSixJID / @Hollywood_JB / @JordxnBryant

Rome Fortune – “I was on one, I can’t lie” (Dir. Goodwin)

Rome Fortune really did with this one. I literally enjoyed myself watching that. This really has made me even more excited for Beautiful Pimp 2. I really do wish he would do more shows in Atlanta even though I understand why he doesn’t. I just feel like it would go over so well. This music has a “singalongability” to it that would just be awesome once people know the words. I kind of hope this catches on as the new party music. And can we give it up to Goodwin on this one? I mean he really just tuck his foot deep down in this video! Kudos sir! S/O to Cowboy Pimpin’ @romefortune
