FatKidsBrotha – Last Two Orgy ft. Key! Snubnose Frankenstein & Curtis Williams (Two-9)

FatKidsBrotha seems to be gearing up to give us that Eastside Paradise 2 and they are off to an amazing start with the Two-9 posse cut Last Two Orgy. Everybody comes with the expected dopeness you get when you combine the Two-9 forces but a real stand out verse comes from the producer of the track Snubnose Frankenstein. We’ve stated before that the young producer may be a double threat and this may be an early sign of that. The video is some pure Atlanta scenery shot by one of our favorite, and definitely most featured, directors Artemus Jenkins who does exactly what the song asks and uses smooth transitions to compliment Snub’s smooth transitions…smooth transitions. SideNote: You can’t help but to notice the lack of Two-9 founder Key! in the visuals which makes my mind wonder if the tracks name has a more somber meaning. Maybe this being the last time that we will hear a group Two-9 cut with the inclusion of Key!… I just made myself sad. @FAT_KIDS_BROTHA (@jesusmunchies & @DavEOFKB) / @FATMANKEY / @snubdogg / @ThatBoyCurtis / @two9 / @ArtemusJenkins

Wara From The NBHD & iNDEED – LMRPT2 Jam Session

Very rare that we get to see a raw jam session from a hip hop artist now a days but we do know that Wara has always had a thing for live instrumentation and who better than iNDEED to back him. LMRPT2 (the acronym standing for Let Me Ride Part 2) was originally produced by Snubnose Frankenstein who is slowly becoming one of my favorite producers of the scene (He’s got a little rapper in him too so beware.) Wonder if this will be on Ill Street Blues II (not even sure if that’s the name of his next effort or if I just made that up.) SideNote: Prowled my way into the GO! RICKY GO! listening party for Dick Brown’s Tall Tails of Foxy Cotton Tail the other day at Threadz boutique and I was extremely impressed with what I heard. Really great stuff. It’s kind of cool to see that the INDEED artist can hold there own separately as well. A rare feat for a band. S/O to the whole Playin For Keeps Family. @warafromthenbhd / @iNDEEDface / @snubdogg / @GORICKYGO / @WaltLive

Rome Fortune – SAFETY (dir. Goodwin)

Rome got one for you rapping ass fans out there with this one. He forgoes his usual laid back lax flow for something a little more rapid fire. We can dig it. Love fast passed subtitles flickering by in the bottom corner of the screen. Really nice touch to this Dun Deal produced audio. I almost waited for a “to be continued graphic” to appear at the end of the video. Definitely feels like there’s more to this story. Hats off to the director and S/O to the Cowboy Pimpin family. Who’s ready for Beatiful Pimp II? SideNote: Peep the Lucid Apparel. @romefortune / @IAmDunDeal / @GoodwinWinsgood

EarthGang – Shallow Graves For Toys

artworks-000052385222-su1sbq-t500x500 We a little late on this one but we here. Shout out to Spillage Village cause EarthGang did their thing on this one. This is an album. Not a mixtape. You can tell that care was taken when it came to the creation of this project and yes I’m going to make the lazy Outkast comparison and I mean that in the best way possible. You have two extremely creative minds here working in tandem and is extremely rare that the sync works this well. At this point we are just waiting for someone to snatch these dudes up because this may just be the most label worthy project to drop from an unsigned artist in the A in a while. There is definitely a sound here. Charismatic verses carry the majority of the audio. We don’t really get a true hook from them until track 4 (No Peace) but with lines like “Whole f**kin’ generation is abortion survivors.” the star is still their lyrical capability. This is not to say that the boys can’t give us choruses. Quit the opposite. They seem to save them. If the Machete hook isn’t one of the most catchy tunes you’ve heard in your life I’ll eat you! And if the DJESUS IS BLACK break at the beginning didn’t make you smile even a little you going to hell for lying. Nearing the end of the project you start to realize you’re listening to music. It’s funny and serious, thought provoking and mind numbing. It’s whatever you thought it was. (I thought about only featuring a premiere track and then I thought, like every other project we’ve covered, this should be experienced as a whole but if you don’t have that kind of time. I would recommend jumping to DJESUS IS BLACK.) @EarthGang

Bias the Black – COUNT23 feat. 2ony Murray

photo COUNT23-Video-Stills-BW_zps2e714ba8.gif First off digging the gif artwork. Everybody who knows us knows we are a sucker for all things anime and and you can never go wrong with a Cowboy Bebop nod. So here we got the FartherOut.com brethren Bias the Black using his Raven Corps affiliation and teaming up with the relatively new to the scene 2ony (pronounced Tony) Murray. A real collaboration here. Each spends almost exactly the same amount of time on the mic which is why I assume the artwork opts for the “x” instead of the “feat”. Bias attacks it a little differently than we are use to seeing him opting for a less lyrical and more aggressive approach while 2ony gives us a story straight from the torn down Atlanta projects. We can really dig this one. (Insider Info: If you listen closely to the chorus you can hear Bias’ wifey ALLIExperience counting with them.) @BiastheBlack / Murray_3rdShift / @FarOutFamily / @RavenCorps

Key! – Fathers Are The Curse

avatars-000045355385-dug75e-t500x500 Long awaited. We are finally getting the follow up to the highly praised Mothers Are To Blame and it comes equipped with all the Key! components he is well known and loved for. See what I mean by that is that there are things that let you know this is Key! audio you are listening to (many of these thing highly imitated in the scene right now.) The slurred verses / Repeating himself in stylized ways. Even on a team of many men per song it’s easy to tell when Key!’s verse starts. Production is on point but you already knew that. Key! definitely has an ear for what sound works for him and I like the way the sounds of the many producers of the project mesh to give the audio it’s complete sound. Another thing I dig about the project are the collaborations. They seem quick almost. Even when a feature appears it still feels like a Key! track. I always feels like they’re just there to aid Key! and not to take over the audio which is how it should be. Of course there is the whole “Two9 or Not?” controversy surrounding the release but we’ll save that for another time. As for know let’s just enjoy the project that I have been anticipating more than any other Atlanta release in recent history. And S/O to Kei (Kei like Key) for keeping us posted through out the project release. @FATMANKEY

Money Makin’ Nique – Funny Guy (prod. araabMUZIK)

BTvx9luIgAABtcI.jpg-large Dang Nique murdered this one. I mean really though. Well known for going over araabMUZIK production but he really just killed this track. Of course Nique is known to be an Atlanta spitter but the flow switch on this really got me. This one goes into immediate rotation. Shout out to the Money Makin’ Bros. and Jerz in particular for the heads up on the drop. He really did a number on the one and I got word from another bird that he was in the studio working on something crazier than this so I’m definitely on the look out. @mOneyMakinNique / @araabMUZIK / @JerzwOrkin

Key! – GUESS WHO

The man Key! finally gives us a visual to GUESS WHO (Fuckin Yo Bitch) today (which premiered on Noisey). The reason I used the word finally is not because the audio for the track has been out for so long (as far as I understand the first time many will hear it is on the long awaited #FATHERSARETHECURSE which drops tomorrow.) but because when I first heard of Two9 and ran a YouTube search on them one of the first things I every saw was Juicy J bringing them on stage to perform this track. And that was a while back. That’s just a preface to say that I’m extremely excited about this project which drops tomorrow 9/11. Two9 affiliation or not the man Key! is a power house in Atlanta right now. S/O to Kei (like Key) for the heads up. @FATMANKEY / @keiopendoors

Rome Fortune – Four Flats (prod. C4)

artworks-000056964944-068t2o-t500x500 A lot of people, especially as of late like to claim they are different. Rome is one of the few in the A that actually is and he shows it with consistency. The beard is gone but the flow is still the same. I believe the boy is out in Cali right now making things happen but we still keeping an eye on his movements. Nice works and S/O to the man C4, CowboyPimpin, and the Small World. @romefortune

Key! – I Like (When I Tried to Write for Cudi)

tumblr_ms3z5uxAzM1rzgmnuo1_500The man Key! gave us something really dope here. A track by the name of I like that he originally wrote for Kid Cudi with the production of FKi. This is too dope to me. One of the toughest creative powers out of the A right now the homie Key! just has it and I think he captured Cudi’s vibe perfectly with this one. In all honesty though if anyone was writing for Cudi in the A it would be Key! Can’t wait for that Fathers are the Curse. @FATMANKEY / @fkimusic

Oddyssey – Socom feat. Raiden

Okay so you guys know that when it comes to covering artist we usually try to keep it in the A since that where we rest and we can give a little more insight on the scene here but, every once in a while we make an exception for one reason or another. This is one of those reasons. So I’m basically a sucker for anything video game or anime based and this crew will supply both on top of that on top of dope music. I first heard about the Miami based Major118 crew through their affiliation with Two9 (OriginalFani if you want to be specific) and dug the style ever since. Oddyssey and Raiden (both of Major118 affiliation) get visceral over this dark Joseph Stranger production. As a whole from this track it brings me back to a Bone Thugs time dark with it’s slick word play and smooth cadence transitions from mellow to rapid without seeming gimmicky. Definitely be ready to hear more from these dudes and the whole Major118 crew right now. And S/O to Diamond Dogs on the visuals. @OddysseyMajor / @RaidenMajore / @Smxlls118 / @JosephStranger
