Wara from the NBHD – You Must Die (+ NY Times Article)

Wara from the NBHD got a print write up in the NY Times and to celebrate dropped a new single on us by the name of You Must Die! Very exciting stuff and we’re very proud of the Atlanta native for this much deserved recognition. He told us he wasn’t going to let up on us and he sure hasn’t. Key! + FKi – FKEYi EP

Now this right here bring Key! into another realm. At first when I heard the first track I thought this was going to be similar to the other things we had heard from Key! recently but that all changed after that. This time Key1 forgoes his natural styling for what seems to be more radio ready hits. All dope stuff as always but it was definitely not what I was expecting which I’m kind of glad to hear. It’s doesn’t feel like Key! just threw together left over songs from his recent projects. It feels like a completely new effort and from the feed back I been hearing everybody really digs it. It was really cool for the boys FKi to take this little venture with him and the Heroes X Villains cosign doesn’t hurt either. Keep up the good stuff guys. @FATMANKEY / @fkimusic / @WE_ARE_HXV

KEY! – “Give Em Hell”

I’m not sure who in charge of making sure all of Key’s videos have the same feel and aesthetic but they are doing a hell of a job. The branding is directly on point. Nothing more we can say about this song that we already haven’t, we love it, and in this video Key! is so Key! Also Key! has stated that he will soon be taking all the free music he has up down so get it fast. I know we went into a scramble to catch all the little loose tracks that we didn’t get from the albums. SideNote: Look at that crowd. Key! gets love everywhere. @FATMANKEY

Congratulations OG Maco! + FUCKEMx3 (feat. Migos)

BwTKLQCCMAAhY87 We never actually got around to congratulating OG Maco on his signing to QC (Quality Control). It’s always awesome to see someone make a major move! And to commemorate this moment and our lateness here’s the first collaboration with his new labels mates Migos! @OGMaco

Key! – Hang Wit Us feat. Retro Jace

Damn this is hard! Just as someone said in the comment section this basically sounds like Shake ‘Em Off part 2 with it’s vibe but I also thought the idea to do the whole thing with distorted vocals was kind of cool. After having all this Key! material dropping I wonder what is happening. Is he gearing up for a solo Key! effort soon? Someone in the know hit us up and let us know something. @FATMANKEY / @retroJACE

J.I.D x 6LACK Mourning Star (ft. India Shawn)

The smoothest ish out of the city right now and we are being promised a project of this! International Sad Boyz is supposedly on the way but we have no date yet. Great collab here with the India Shawn feature for good measure. This will be two back to back collaborative projects for J.I.D counting Lucky Buddah with MoneyMakinNique. I wonder if we’re getting the .5 anytime soon or if he’s holding off on that. Either way I’m pretty pumped about this project here definitely my kind of music and I’m hoping these guys come with it. @SlickSixJID / @6LACK

Curtis Williams – Danco James

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this project. As any fan of Curtis should know his selection musically can be all over the place which is something that I’m sure he prides himself on. I’m very pleased to say that this project is really impressive and down right beautiful at times. Some of the cords and samples and just magical maybe even whimsical at times. This is some of the best stuff to come out of Two9 in a minute with no disrespect to any of the other great work they’ve put out recently. This is really a moment of Williams planting his foot in the ground and saying Two9 is here for the long haul. @thatboycurtis / @Two9

OG Maco – U Guessed It

We spoke on this when Give Em’ Hell dropped. This song is a Effing Hit!!! Aided with some pretty dope visuals which could have been shot at Trillectro you can also catch a glimpse of Rome Fortune and his new green beard. I do really wish him and Key! had not have had their differences because this song was just classic with the both of them. Still really good stuff and this is going to spread like wild fire. S/O to the whole OGG family. @OGMaco

Alkebulan – Public Enemy

We got three hands on deck (Sonny Digital, Curtis Williams, & Reckless Dex) for the production of this very timely piece of work here. Alkebulan ,as the young panther he is, gives us aggression but honestly holds back to state things a little more matter-of-factly as he says lines like “911 is a joke”. The track has also garnered the attention of actual Public Enemy member Chuck D which is just awesome. I really do love seeing artist in the scene live up the image they portray. Really good work. @Alkbln

Raury – Indigo Child

TVmrrr7w You haven’t heard of Raury by now you’re living under a rock with no internet. Raury seems to be an amalgam of many different characters we’ve seen. His influences definitely show and it may have to do with his youth. This can be good and bad depending on the type of listener you are but there is something very endearing about it. The project is extremely solid and has an originally flare about it (I mean you have to beat a video game in order to download it), not in the since of this is like nothing I have ever heard but more like nothing I’ve heard from a kid like him. And by that I mean a young black kid. I know that may sound harsh but it’s the truth of what I hear. Many people in the scene haven’t heard anything like this but many people in the scene don’t listen to alternative music very much at all. It’s kind of refreshing to see how receptive they are to this style of music (even if you have to put a money train behind it to get them to listen). As I stated before this project is incredibly solid and Raury is here to stay. Smooth rifts on this very acoustic project has dazed out a very niche lane for him as a young black male and Columbia is not going to waste that. I would not at all be surprise to see him performing and of these songs at the Grammy’s next year. I wonder what his mom has to say about that. @Raury

KEY! + Chris Fresh: EightHundredandEightKeys

Key just continues to prove that he can churn out catchy hits on command and this project is no different. I mean seriously Key! is proving to have the magic touch. If you want to be on then you need a Key! collab. I will say that this project, as short as it is, is bottom heavy. The most memorable tracks come near the back end. KNOW U, PERFECT, and PARTY are jus awesome while the first two kind of just sound a bit more aggressive and while they are dope tracks with great lines the are a little less memorable. The stand out track on this is obviously PERFECT. Basically it sound like Key! just being Key! and not giving a eff what the track is going to sound like which of course ends up making the track sound awesome. As one of my correspondents stated it almost sounded like he was just going to use some stuff as place holders and freestyled somethings with the intention to go back later and just didn’t. We are glad he didn’t because this is going near the top of the Key! catalog. S/O to all of OPB @FATMANKEY
