Bonnie Bordeaux – Peep Show

Broaden your scope for a minute we’re stepping out of the rap realm again. We got a songstress for y’all in miss Bonnie Bordeaux. She’s giving us the first visual to her project The Damsel Diaries with the single Peep Show. I can dig this shit. It reminds me of the words of a blogger I read long ago “it sounds like something you heard before but nothing you heard before.” I was put onto her by fellow culture Blogger ALLIExpereince so I new it was worth a listen. But really though the project’s dope I can definitely see her becoming a little Atlanta staple in the scene amongst the other must have songstresses the ATL populous utilizes for the added melody to their projects. Most def give the project a listen. I’m loving my city right now! SideNote: Did you peep the little Bias the Black cameo as the guitarist?! That boy a fool! LOL!

Scotty – Fuss N Fight ft. Lecrea

Earlier today Scotty tweeted “we gotta do betta. im including myself in dat statement” and I think that’s what he’s trying to do in releasing Fuss N Fight visuals from the acclaimed FAITH project. Heavy visuals for this one and something that we have all seen. We all have those friends who want the quick financial gratification but haven’t thought things through thoroughly. Of course this being worst case scenario. I would like to take this time out to make a statement about the boy Scotty. While on a little road trip the other day I was in the car and some how we got on the subject of what it’s like meeting peers in the scene. Everyone has there horror stories. “This guy is stuck up” “that dude didn’t say thank you when I told him I was his biggest fan” and the list goes on & on for dang near every artist in the A. Expect for Scotty. Every time I or anyone I know runs across this guy they have nothing but good things to say about him and this I believe is a big factor of what is pushing him forward. He is incredibly humble (even if he boast as though he isn’t). S/O to the Cool Club & A Color Brown Shot SideNote: Anyone catch TheCoolisMac as the shooter? That pinky ring though! @ScottyATL / @Lecrea / @thecoolismac

FatKidsBrotha – Last Two Orgy ft. Key! Snubnose Frankenstein & Curtis Williams (Two-9)

FatKidsBrotha seems to be gearing up to give us that Eastside Paradise 2 and they are off to an amazing start with the Two-9 posse cut Last Two Orgy. Everybody comes with the expected dopeness you get when you combine the Two-9 forces but a real stand out verse comes from the producer of the track Snubnose Frankenstein. We’ve stated before that the young producer may be a double threat and this may be an early sign of that. The video is some pure Atlanta scenery shot by one of our favorite, and definitely most featured, directors Artemus Jenkins who does exactly what the song asks and uses smooth transitions to compliment Snub’s smooth transitions…smooth transitions. SideNote: You can’t help but to notice the lack of Two-9 founder Key! in the visuals which makes my mind wonder if the tracks name has a more somber meaning. Maybe this being the last time that we will hear a group Two-9 cut with the inclusion of Key!… I just made myself sad. @FAT_KIDS_BROTHA (@jesusmunchies & @DavEOFKB) / @FATMANKEY / @snubdogg / @ThatBoyCurtis / @two9 / @ArtemusJenkins

Smoke and Mirrors – Dir. Artemus Jenkins (Episodes 5-8)

Here we go again people we been off it for a minute but now we’re back. Smoke and Mirrors episodes 5-8 are in with your Cali fix. If my count is correct there should be 12 episodes. Everything seems good by episode 8 but I don’t trust this at all. With 4 episodes left this can’t end well (which means that it will end well for the drama monsters out there.) I’m basically waiting for Dixon’s situation to blow up in his face for our enjoyment. This is about as much as I can say without spoiling anything for the people about to view this. So hurry up and watch! @ArtemusJenkins CLICK FOR EPISODES 6-8 Continue Reading

Wara From The NBHD & iNDEED – LMRPT2 Jam Session

Very rare that we get to see a raw jam session from a hip hop artist now a days but we do know that Wara has always had a thing for live instrumentation and who better than iNDEED to back him. LMRPT2 (the acronym standing for Let Me Ride Part 2) was originally produced by Snubnose Frankenstein who is slowly becoming one of my favorite producers of the scene (He’s got a little rapper in him too so beware.) Wonder if this will be on Ill Street Blues II (not even sure if that’s the name of his next effort or if I just made that up.) SideNote: Prowled my way into the GO! RICKY GO! listening party for Dick Brown’s Tall Tails of Foxy Cotton Tail the other day at Threadz boutique and I was extremely impressed with what I heard. Really great stuff. It’s kind of cool to see that the INDEED artist can hold there own separately as well. A rare feat for a band. S/O to the whole Playin For Keeps Family. @warafromthenbhd / @iNDEEDface / @snubdogg / @GORICKYGO / @WaltLive

Rome Fortune – SAFETY (dir. Goodwin)

Rome got one for you rapping ass fans out there with this one. He forgoes his usual laid back lax flow for something a little more rapid fire. We can dig it. Love fast passed subtitles flickering by in the bottom corner of the screen. Really nice touch to this Dun Deal produced audio. I almost waited for a “to be continued graphic” to appear at the end of the video. Definitely feels like there’s more to this story. Hats off to the director and S/O to the Cowboy Pimpin family. Who’s ready for Beatiful Pimp II? SideNote: Peep the Lucid Apparel. @romefortune / @IAmDunDeal / @GoodwinWinsgood

Key! – GUESS WHO

The man Key! finally gives us a visual to GUESS WHO (Fuckin Yo Bitch) today (which premiered on Noisey). The reason I used the word finally is not because the audio for the track has been out for so long (as far as I understand the first time many will hear it is on the long awaited #FATHERSARETHECURSE which drops tomorrow.) but because when I first heard of Two9 and ran a YouTube search on them one of the first things I every saw was Juicy J bringing them on stage to perform this track. And that was a while back. That’s just a preface to say that I’m extremely excited about this project which drops tomorrow 9/11. Two9 affiliation or not the man Key! is a power house in Atlanta right now. S/O to Kei (like Key) for the heads up. @FATMANKEY / @keiopendoors

Oddyssey – Socom feat. Raiden

Okay so you guys know that when it comes to covering artist we usually try to keep it in the A since that where we rest and we can give a little more insight on the scene here but, every once in a while we make an exception for one reason or another. This is one of those reasons. So I’m basically a sucker for anything video game or anime based and this crew will supply both on top of that on top of dope music. I first heard about the Miami based Major118 crew through their affiliation with Two9 (OriginalFani if you want to be specific) and dug the style ever since. Oddyssey and Raiden (both of Major118 affiliation) get visceral over this dark Joseph Stranger production. As a whole from this track it brings me back to a Bone Thugs time dark with it’s slick word play and smooth cadence transitions from mellow to rapid without seeming gimmicky. Definitely be ready to hear more from these dudes and the whole Major118 crew right now. And S/O to Diamond Dogs on the visuals. @OddysseyMajor / @RaidenMajore / @Smxlls118 / @JosephStranger

Scotty – Game feat. Big K.R.I.T. & Trinidad Jame$

From the too dope #FAITH project Scotty (or ScottyATL) drops the visual for the most star studded track of the album “GAME” via Complex. The track produced by DJ Burn One is true to the concept, old southern pimp ish and I love how they take on the role different characters and the reoccurring Martin Lawrence / Jerome esc character in Scotty’s video (who kind of looks an awful lot like Trinidad. lol.). This video really does put Scotty in a different place. That kind of star power does say a hell of a lot about where he is right know. The progression is real but even a quick Google search of the mans name at this point will tell you that where he is now and where he was a year ago are two very different places. Kudos to the ever humble boy Scotty for putting on for the city. And S/O to Motion Family for the visuals. @ScottyATL / @BIGKRIT / @TrinidadJamesGG / @djburnone / @ComplexMag / @MotionFamily

Smoke and Mirrors – Dir. Artemus Jenkins (Episode 4)

Episode 4 of the Smoke and Mirrors webseries. You already know we are down for the ride at this point and I’m not sure how far out in advance he is producing these but I feel like with this episode he was giving the fans what the wanted, MORE CALI!!! Enjoy. Episodes 1-3 @ArtemusJenkins

Shalom Little – Brolic Bounce

I really dig this visual. It feels like a look into the genesis of the still young man Shalom Little (1/3 of the SubConscious crew). I mean from the looks of it the clips from the video could possibly span years in separation which is really impressive for a dude who is really just hitting the scene. Also I’m going to take this opportunity to speak on the boys mixtape “the SubJAKKKK” in which he lyrically pounces on jacked beats. You can really feel his New York origins all over the project. The flow is smooth and aggressive, lyrically strong, and care free at the same time in a way that is usually reserved for New York rappers. Definitely worth a play through with no weak spots on this first solo outing. Click HERE for the download. Shout out to Wino Willy for the added production. Also shout out to the SubConscious boys and the whole Raven Corps crew. Y’all got a nice one here. @ShalomLittle / @sbCNCS / @RavenCorps / @Black_ChinaKid
