Adidas Mutombo’s

Adidas just rereleased Dikembe Mutombo’s signature sneaker from ’93 and you already know. Arguably the best shot blocker to put a hand on the ball and shake a finger. Needless to say the damn things sold out immediately and showed up all over ebay running up to $500. Of course Jordan’s are Jordan’s and they will always sell but I’m kind of digging the love that other retro signature sneakers are getting as of late P. Ewing’s and the like. No telling what cats will do lately to get their feet on a pair of Pippen’s Uptempos. post via ALLIExperience

Oddyssey – Socom feat. Raiden

Okay so you guys know that when it comes to covering artist we usually try to keep it in the A since that where we rest and we can give a little more insight on the scene here but, every once in a while we make an exception for one reason or another. This is one of those reasons. So I’m basically a sucker for anything video game or anime based and this crew will supply both on top of that on top of dope music. I first heard about the Miami based Major118 crew through their affiliation with Two9 (OriginalFani if you want to be specific) and dug the style ever since. Oddyssey and Raiden (both of Major118 affiliation) get visceral over this dark Joseph Stranger production. As a whole from this track it brings me back to a Bone Thugs time dark with it’s slick word play and smooth cadence transitions from mellow to rapid without seeming gimmicky. Definitely be ready to hear more from these dudes and the whole Major118 crew right now. And S/O to Diamond Dogs on the visuals. @OddysseyMajor / @RaidenMajore / @Smxlls118 / @JosephStranger

Lucid Apparel

Because these boys are in the street that’s why. Basically selling out of every item and here’s to hoping they re-up on the line sometime soon. If you haven’t seen these boys around Atlanta then you don’t get out much. I just wasn’t on my game enough to catch one of these pieces before they sold out but I will for sure be keeping an eye out from now on for this line. Can’t wait to see there fall collection. Keep it up boys. Check their lookbook HERE. @LucidFC / @Lucid_Betts / @Lucid_Chet lucidfc.us

Scotty – Game feat. Big K.R.I.T. & Trinidad Jame$

From the too dope #FAITH project Scotty (or ScottyATL) drops the visual for the most star studded track of the album “GAME” via Complex. The track produced by DJ Burn One is true to the concept, old southern pimp ish and I love how they take on the role different characters and the reoccurring Martin Lawrence / Jerome esc character in Scotty’s video (who kind of looks an awful lot like Trinidad. lol.). This video really does put Scotty in a different place. That kind of star power does say a hell of a lot about where he is right know. The progression is real but even a quick Google search of the mans name at this point will tell you that where he is now and where he was a year ago are two very different places. Kudos to the ever humble boy Scotty for putting on for the city. And S/O to Motion Family for the visuals. @ScottyATL / @BIGKRIT / @TrinidadJamesGG / @djburnone / @ComplexMag / @MotionFamily

Nike Air Max 90 Essentials (Infrared)

nike-air-max-90-essential-infrared-1 Since we’re in the 90’s now…these. That is all. No but really though big fan of this style and and you can’t beat the infrared color way. It’s basically a hit every time Nike uses it. I love the look of the shoe and really it merits the purchase on that alone but I do wish it had more utility. I mean you may be able to shoot around some and go for a little jog but definitely wouldn’t pick up a serious game or going for a real run in these but that’s basically a gripe with most shoes. It’s hard to have it both ways. They gave us the white now we got the black which of course you need to come out of the pocket a tad more for but worth it I believe. *peeped the shoe via HYPEBEAST @nike

Curtis Williams – Half Forgotten Daydreams

tumblr_mqgd695E0o1qlbcemo1_1280 But really though what can I say about this release that hasn’t already been said. It’s definitely one of the most anticipated releases in the Atlanta scene. We’ve been waiting on this one and it does not disappoint. If you dig Curtis your going to love the project. It’s just smooth so smooth to the point that in the closing of the album I almost got the impression that it was actually was a loosely based concept project of a young William’s daydreams which is a testament to the vision and consistency of the project as a whole. I also have to give him kudos for not going crazy with the features. With the clout that not only his name but the Two9 brand carries at this time he could have really gotten anybody he wanted for a little boost in star power but he didn’t. He kept it at home with the team and you have to respect the authenticity that comes with that. @ThatBoyCurtis

Shalom Little – Brolic Bounce

I really dig this visual. It feels like a look into the genesis of the still young man Shalom Little (1/3 of the SubConscious crew). I mean from the looks of it the clips from the video could possibly span years in separation which is really impressive for a dude who is really just hitting the scene. Also I’m going to take this opportunity to speak on the boys mixtape “the SubJAKKKK” in which he lyrically pounces on jacked beats. You can really feel his New York origins all over the project. The flow is smooth and aggressive, lyrically strong, and care free at the same time in a way that is usually reserved for New York rappers. Definitely worth a play through with no weak spots on this first solo outing. Click HERE for the download. Shout out to Wino Willy for the added production. Also shout out to the SubConscious boys and the whole Raven Corps crew. Y’all got a nice one here. @ShalomLittle / @sbCNCS / @RavenCorps / @Black_ChinaKid

Rome Fortune – Grind (Dir. Goodwin)

Rome drops the video for Grind. I’m not sure if this is a part of the new things from Rome to come or if he is just capitalizing on the buzz of the song. I feel like the feel of the track is a little different than what we heard on Beautiful Pimp. This seems a little more feel good to me which is perfect for the Summer time. Now if could just stop raining in the A we would be straight. None the less it’s a dope track with a dope visual to go along with it. Shout out to the whole Cowboy Pimpin set. @romefortune / @GoodwinWinsgood / @fkimusic

Art by Paper Frank (Pink Lemonade)

Paper Frank’s Pink Lemonade event was bananas! Way packed with Atlanta’s urban up and coming who’s who and of course much of Frank’s amazing artwork. I mean the young man is always working it reminds me of the words of the late Picasso “Give me a museum and I’ll fill it.” I feel like this applies to Frank. Good work young man. Everyone needs to go get a tattoo by this man at City of Ink. Lol @PaperFrank / @CityofInk

Wara from the NBHD – BELLY (Dir. Kyle Drew)

Just now getting a chance to post this but gotta give love to the boy Wara and his rise. Really wish he got a chance to go on at the cut short Free Milk but it’s all good I know there will be plenty of chances to see the Brockett Road boy. This is the second visual for Ill Street Blues if you count the previous early release of Menace to Society but I guess that would be for the hardcore fans. Also we must must must give a shout out to long time homie and director Kyle Drew of Drew & Co. Very nice work on the visuals. @warafromthenbhd / @drewandcofilms
